A shopping haven perfect for shopaholics and fashionistas alike, Dubai offers an eclectic range of retail options be it at mega malls or traditional souks. Needless to say, you can shop till you drop… literally!
The Dubai Mall
Staggering in size and its selection of products, the Dubai Mall is one of the largest in the world. Iconic fashion brands like Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Armani, Valentino and Cartier can be found here along with the Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale’s department stores. A 20 minute drive from Oaks Liwa Heights, the mall also features an ice rink, cinema complex and an aquarium.
Dubai Gold Souk
If it’s some “bling” you are after then this is the place to go to. Located in Deira and within easy reach of many hotels and luxury apartments in Dubai, this famous souk has a wide array of gold jewellery and accessories for sale as well as gold bars. Hint; bargaining can get you discounts!
Al Fahidi Street
For all your electronics needs, this street is a ‘must visit’. You will find the latest laptops and cameras along with household appliances too including washing machines and fridges. Do remember to ask for a warranty and one that is applicable in your home country.
Karama Shopping Centre
If you are after souvenirs and handicrafts, then this shopping centre is worth visiting. Fashion, sportswear, handbags and accessories are also available here and are relatively less in price than what you would find at luxury malls.
