Significant photography was undertaken of the bay and her surroundings in order to design the planet “Kasshyyk” in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, which was released in 2005. The planet in question is the home of the Wookie species which the iconic character Chewbacca belongs to.
There’s also a diverse range of rare species that can be found within the bay with a great deal of abundance. Examples include dugongs, and the black finless porpoise.
A number of ancient cultures also co-existed within this bay and there are multiple caves on landmasses situated within the bay that contain paintings which are thousands of years old.
