The Royal Carriage Museum displays the royal carriages used at majestic processions during the time of King Rama V. Drawing travellers back to the olden days, these horse drawn carriages were a popular mode of transport in the late 19th century. Even though, motorcars were introduced in Bangkok in 1897, the carriage was commonly used by many, seen throughout the streets. Most often, these carriages were used as a mode of transportation by royalty and members of nobility. Seen during the nights were the elite men and women, travelling for various ceremonies and gatherings.
Located near Dusit Garden, the museum has a deep connection to the Thai royal family, holding an estimate of 23 horse drawn carriages.
