Boulder also has placed its name amoung the Hollywood stars, by accommodating the setting for Stephen King’s novel The Stand (1978), where he even lived close to a year in 1974 and wrote his famous horror, The Shining (1977). For the people who remember the old American sitcom Mork and Mindy (1978-1982), they will be glad to know that Mindy’s house actually is in Boulder and visits are encouraged. The University of Colorado at Boulder appears in South Park on numerous occasions as the creators of the show were students of the university.
