The culturally significant Xingjiao Temple is recognized as a major temple of the Tang Dynasty. Relics of the accomplished monk Xuanzang are buried at the site. A number of pagodas are located in the temple complex, notably the famed Xuanzang Dagoba, which has the distinction of being the most ancient brick pagoda remaining in China. Inscriptions in stone at the base of the pagoda describe the life story of Xuanzang.
