Oman is located in the Arabian Peninsula and the capital of the nation is Muscat. There are numerous tourist attractions in Muscat as well as many of the business centers are located in the capital. The Museum of Omani Heritage houses many archaeological and artifact information in detail. The museum has a dedicated section which exhibits trade routes, agriculture, architecture , minerals , weapons, crafts and arts and dhows. The museum is located down Al Alam street and is managed by the ministry of heritage and culture.The museum is open from Saturdays to Wednesdays from 8 am to 1.30pm and on Thursdays it opens from 4- 6pm.
There are other such interesting museums located in the close proximity of the city, with one being the Natural history museum. Located in the same building as the Ministry of Heritage and Culture. The museum exhibits various aspects of life since it first appeared in the Sultanese territory. There is also a specially dedicated Whale hall within the premises which exhibits skeletons bones and teeth of whales.
Other places to visit if you have similar interest are the maritime museum and the children’s museum as well as the French Museum.
