Phuket offers some of the loveliest trails that let you take the most scenic drives around the incredible landscapes. Travel around the island to explore its most prominent attractions, with the list of routes below.
Karon Beach Trail
A relatively simple route of 2.4km, you can find this trail near Mueng Phuket. You can complete this route in about half an hour, although you’ll surely stop every now and then to check out your surroundings. This area is quite popular for dirt biking and bird watching and is open throughout the year.
Khao Rang Hill
Yet another small trail that doesn’t take too long to explore. It is a simple 1.4 km point-to-point trail which is also popular for dirt biking, bird-watching and hiking. There are times during the day when you can spend hours in solitude, as it’s not as frequent as the other trails.
Monkey Hill
Moving onto a relatively challenging route, this 4.7 km route takes just under 2 hours to complete. With a variety of things to see along the way, this route has periods throughout the day when you can enjoy some peace and quiet. The trail leads up to Monkey Hill, one of the best places to visit in Phuket, and you can have an interesting time exploring unique flora and fauna along the way. The view from the top of the hill is incredibly picturesque and makes the climb worth it.
Phang Ngai Bay Cycle Route
Quite a challenging route that runs across the island, it is a whopping 85 km, starting in Kathu, Phuket. If you’re staying in the northern part of the island at a resort such as Avani+ Mai Khao Phuket Suites & Villas, fear not, as you are less than an hour away from Kathu and can easily get there.
Phuket South Cycle Loop
Another difficult route that begins at Kathu, this trail goes around the southern part of the island, stretching for 71 km. This route is lovely because it takes you through the coastal towns on the island, where you can discover beautiful sandy beaches. Heading to the east side of the country, you can have authentic Thai food at the Phuket Old Town, where there are many restaurants and stalls where you can feast to your heart’s content.
