Auckland is New Zealand’s biggest and most well-known city. As such, it’s no surprise that there’re a ton of things do here. So, if you have one full day to spend here in Auckland, here’s the best way to go about it.
Breakfast in Town
Start off your day with a charming breakfast at the Auckland Town Square. There’s plenty of home-grown establishments to choose from here, from rustic coffee shops to family diners. This also a good opportunity to mingle with the locals and get their take on Auckland.
Explore Downtown
There are quite a few attractions to be see in Downtown Auckland and you should head there as the morning progresses. If you’re the mood for some shopping, consider a visit to precincts like Queen Street, High Street and Bitomart. You can also visit the iconic Sky Tower – a great place to try the exciting activity of bungee jumping!
Visiting Mt Eden
Only a 30-minute bust ride away from Downtown, Mt Eden is a great place to spend the afternoon here in Auckland. The hike itself should only take you around 40 minutes and it’ll provide you with a great view of the city. Up near the summit you can have a nice picnic to wile away the rest of the afternoon.
Relax and Viaduct Harbour
A visit to Viaduct Harbour in the evening is the perfect way to close out a day in Auckland – especially if you’re staying at one of the nearby Auckland Harbour hotels – say for example, the Auckland Harbour Suites. You can take in the views of vessels coming in and out while enjoying a nice beverage.
